A Reeds Spring teenager is taking a Branson area attraction to court. Dakoda Wood has filed a lawsuit and is demanding a jury trial in Stone County against the Branson Interactive Zoo and Aquarium, formerly known as Predator World. Wood, reportedly 16 at the time, was attacked by a tiger on Aug. 4 while he was an employee.
A motion hearing is scheduled for Monday at the Stone County Courthouse in Galena. The defendants are zoo operators Breck Wakefield, Branson West Entertainment, Inc., and Tia’s World LLC. According to court documents, Wood was bitten in the neck by a tiger and as a result, suffered damage to his spinal cord and neck, and paralysis and injury to his body.
Wood’s attorneys said the attack has diminished the teen’s capacity for work and other activities for the rest of his life.
