Two Red Line Metrorail trains crashed between Takoma park stations and Fort
Totten on 2009 in Washington state. Nine people killed and
dozens were injured. Seven of nine wrongful death cases and some injury cases were
settled so far by the transit agency and companies.
The following companies: And Metro, Alstom Signaling,
Ansaldo STS USA and ARINC filed papers in the U.S. District Court for the
District of Columbia on Monday announcing to the court that they will “stipulate
to liability” regarding the 4 remaining claim cases at hand looking to avoid "significant
risks and costs" issues in court.
This was the first public admittance of the liability admission
of fault so far. Other public repercussions have been a massive turnover with upper
level management, also revealing reports and major reform to policy and safety guidelines.
